Route 66

Route 66, famously known as the "Mother Road," is a legendary symbol of American freedom and adventure, stretching from Chicago to Santa Monica. It was once the lifeline for countless travelers seeking opportunity and escape during the Dust Bowl and Great Depression, embodying the spirit of a nation on the move. On my recent three-day journey along the eastern segment of Route 66, I aimed to capture the fading echoes of this historic highway through my lens. The experience was eye-opening and bittersweet; many iconic landmarks and roadside stops have vanished, swallowed by time and progress. There’s a palpable sadness in seeing how much of this quintessential American pastime has been forgotten, yet through my photographs, I strive to preserve the enduring soul of Route 66.
