Edge of Winter

from $60.00

Standing on the frozen expanse of Lake Michigan, the South Haven lighthouse rises like a crimson sentinel against a world of white—its red paint sharp and defiant beneath crusts of ice that cling to railings and lantern room, sculpted by wind into glittering rime. The lake itself is a sheet of glass and fractured crystal, snow-smudged and stretching to the horizon, while waves still find fury, smashing against the pier and battering the lighthouse in white explosions of spray and ice shards that leap and freeze midair. The air bites; each breath fogs and sharpens the senses, and there's a raw, exhilarating solitude in that contrast—the warm, crimson color of the tower set against the indifferent, glacial vastness—an emotion that is equal parts awe and still, stubborn joy at witnessing a fierce, beautiful collision of color, cold, and motion.

Shipping is included in every price — US, Canada, UK, EU, Australia & New Zealand.
